Kipu Falls, located up the Hule’ia Stream, is a small waterfall that is off the beaten path but still incredibly popular with locals and tourists alike. Getting there requires crossing private property, and you may see NO TRESSPASSING signs posted; however, these signs don’t seem to stop to many people from visiting this hidden gem and the Grove Farm Homestead who owns the land doesn’t seem to really mind the visitors to the falls. From the road a 5 to 10 minute walk takes you down a trail that leads you to the falls. Here you will find a twenty-foot waterfall, splashing into a large, glassy pool. A rope swing off to the side of Kipu Falls allows for those seeking a thrill to take a dramatic plunge.

To get there, take Hwy 50 south of Puhi to Kipu Road (also the Puhi Bypass) and head toward the ocean. Take the first right. (This is still Kipu Road.) Just before the bridge there is a dirt road that will take you down to the falls.
